SITE LOCATION:

Our two Doswell Properties are located at 20077 Beaver Dam Rd Beaverdam, VA 23015

·        Please wear appropriate clothing to the worksite. No open-toe shoes, baggy clothes, or jewelry. Keep the weather in mind, we work in all weather conditions. Rain will make the site muddy, so plan accordingly.

·        Lunch is not provided, so bring a packed lunch. There will be a 30-minute break for lunch usually around 11:30 a.m.  Do not leave the worksite during this time.

·        Water, snacks, sunscreen, and bug spray are recommended.

·        Please do not use your cell phones on the site, unless there is an emergency. Volunteering on an active construction site requires everyone’s full attention!

CANCELLATIONS & CHANGES: Habitat reserves the right to cancel based on weather, or lack of work on a construction site. At times, there may also be changes in location in order to be the most productive in providing affordable housing in the community.

ABOUT THE HOME BUYER:

For Ana, homeownership is more than achieving a lifelong dream; it represents stability, safety, and a fresh start for her family. As a solo parent of three, Ana has spent years working hard to overcome financial challenges and frequent moves caused by rising rental costs. After overcoming domestic violence, Ana earned her associate degree while raising her children, paving the way for a stable career with a local law firm.

Ana has lived in the area for the past two years and is proud to call Hanover home. She enjoys spending time at local parks and on trails; she attends church, and volunteers whenever her demanding work schedule allows. She is especially proud of her three children: her oldest daughter is active in church leadership while her husband serves in the U.S. Army, her middle daughter works with children with special needs while pursuing her bachelor's degree, and her youngest son, a high school student, hopes to become an engineer.

Growing up, Ana experienced housing instability firsthand, sharing cramped living spaces and moving frequently. Those experiences shaped her dream of providing a permanent home where her family could put down roots, build lasting friendships, and enjoy the security of a place to truly call their own. Through Hanover and King William Habitat for Humanity, that dream is becoming a reality. She is deeply grateful for the opportunity and hopes others know that Habitat doesn't simply build houses - it walks beside families every step of the journey, becoming part of their story along the way.
