Who We Are
Our Vision: A world where everyone has a decent place to live.
Hanover and King William Habitat for Humanity is founded on volunteerism and values the contributions made by individuals who give their time to work with us as volunteers. Volunteers are a vital part of our builds. Our homes are built mainly from volunteers, both skilled and unskilled. All you need is a willing heart and the time! This volunteer-driven organization relies on volunteers like you to help families realize the dream of homeownership.
What We Do
Beneficiaries:
Our homeowners are hardworking families who through the Habitat program have qualified for
an affordable mortgage, worked many hours of sweat equity on their own home and the homes
of other future habitat homeowners, and are now living in their homes and are experiencing the
joys of homeownership. They have worked hard to become homeowners, so we want to
continue to support them after closing on their home through their daily lives.
Purpose:
Being a responsible homeowner can be draining, and we want to lift up our homeowners with a
greeting card. Whether this card is for a special holiday, or ‘just because’ – it shows our
homeowners they are on our minds and all their hard work does not go unnoticed.
Requirement:
Anyone choosing to send cards must sign the privacy & confidentiality agreement and submit
the document to Habitat staff before obtaining addresses to our homeowners. The
document provided must not be shared with anyone who has not signed the document and
once the project is completed, we ask that you shred the document with names and addresses.
